RoM

In my previous post, i walked you through getting Runes of Magic running on Ubuntu Linux via Wine. Recently, as most MMORPG games have, they updated their client and i found that it broke the game running on linux. When i would launch the game (client.exe) it would just show the background animation and not present the usual EULA and Login. A quick wine registry hack solved this issue.

Runes of Magic

Runes of Magic is a free massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) developed by the Taiwanese developer Runewaker Entertainment and adapted for the English and German speaking market by German company Frogster Interactive. After going through an open beta phase, the game was launched on 19 March, 2009. The game client is a free download, and there is no monthly subscription fee, because the service is funded by real money transactions (RMT) in the Runes of Magic Item Shop.

So today during lunch, i jumped onto Runes of Magic to start some chain quests so i can finish them up when i got home later, and i was participating in the "main" global chat.

Someone commented on my screen name, and i lol'ed back. Then got about 5 other people that jumped into chat to say they reported me beacause my screen name is "offensive".

What's wrong with my Priest named WTBLittleBoy?
